Year End Field Day

Next Sunday, 26 June, will be our usual (before Covid) year end field day at Dave and Pat Johnson’s place in Harrop. We will start at about 12:00. Bring your bee suit as Dave usually goes through a few hives to show us stuff that he is working on. Spouses and partners are welcome to sit and visit if you are not into bees. We would really appreciate folks with a truck that might be able to bring a BBQ. Please message me if you could do that. This is our “year end” meeting because the WK Beekeepers do not meet in July/August for summer holidays and we start up again in September.

  1. Hi everyone We have a barbecue and a griddle available here at the farm. I don’t think anyone will need to bring one unless they feel more comfortable using their own equipment. Hope to have some hive manipulation project for you to see using our single brood chamber management. Look forward to seeing everyone. Location…. Cross the Harrop ferry, follow the road to the Mill Creek bridge. First turn to the left after the bridge is Ogilvie Rd. We live at the end of the road. There is a sign for the HPFP sawmill and our “honey” as well at the corner. Dave and Pat Johnson 250 229-4765

  2. Hi Axel,

I’d like to come to the bbq, I’ll check my portable bbq to see if it’s in working order. Where does Dave live exactly?

    Thanks, Sylvia
