The monthly meeting for March will be this coming Sunday, 8th at Paul’s place ( http://www.kootenaybeekeeping.com/ ) at the usual time from 13:00 to 15:00. Remember that the spring time change is this weekend so don’t be late. 🙂
Liz Huxter will be giving a presentation on the Bee BC grant ( https://iafbc.ca/bee-bc/ )that she got last year for bee forage plants in the Grand Forks area. As you can see from the website, applications for grant money for this coming year close on March 16, if you are interested.
Dave Johnson will also be there to take NZ package orders for this year. (see the previous post for information).
We should have enough donated sugar to have a raffle this time, so bring an empty 5-gallon bucket to take home your winnings. There are some bee plant seed donations in the raffle also, courtesy of Kate and Ryan that presented in January and February. Any other donations that you may want to bring will be more than welcome.
This is also your notice of the Annual General Meeting of the West Kootenay Beekeepers which will be held at the Castlegar Public Library ( https://www.google.ca/maps/place/Castlegar+%26+District+Public+Library/@49.3266075,-117.6656851,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x537cd367e91bbf4f:0x728c19b787951b98!8m2!3d49.3266075!4d-117.6634911 ) on Saturday, 4 April 2020. As usual the venue will be open at 12:00 for folks to bring their bag lunch and drinks in order to socialize. The meeting proper will begin at 13:00. I will be reporting back from the BCHPA semi-AGM, which is in Kamloops every year, March 27 – 28 this year. The meeting has to be on Saturday because the library changes to summer hours in April and is closed on Sundays.
