The West Kootenay Branch BCHPA meeting will be Sunday, Nov. 8th at Selkirk College, Castlegar campus. We will begin as usual at 11:00 for a bag lunch and casual get-together in the cafeteria. The official meeting will begin at 12:00 in Room K-10. This is also the November installment of the Beekeeper’s Gathering and beekeepers who are not BCHPA members are encouraged to attend to learn more about the organization and it’s benefits. You will hear a report from the AGM which was recently held in Courtenay on Vancouver Island. Much discussion centred around the discovery of the small hive beetle (SHB) in the lower mainland and Ontario and how it is being coped with. Christina Yahn, who spent several months this summer with a large bee operation in Hawaii hopes to be present to share her experiences. And as usual, bring your questions and comments for sharing.
